We support leaders at moments of growth, transition, and modernization—often working at the intersection of strategy, operations, finance, and delivery. Our work spans public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and our teams are built to scale thoughtfully as new projects come online.
KADO is building a bench of independent project managers to support current and upcoming client engagements. This role is ideal for a junior- to mid-level project manager who is highly organized, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and excited to work across a variety of initiatives.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role, with assignments scoped per project. Specific clients and timelines will vary.
Depending on the engagement, responsibilities may include:
Managing day-to-day execution of projects, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Supporting project planning, workplans, and status tracking
Facilitating meetings, capturing action items, and following through on next steps
Coordinating across stakeholders, internal team members, and external partners
Maintaining project documentation, dashboards, and reporting artifacts
Identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement
Maintaining clean, well-organized Excel- or dashboard-based trackers and providing timely, clear updates to clients and internal teams
We’re looking for candidates who bring:
2–6 years of project management experience (junior to mid-level)
Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
Comfort working independently in a remote, fast-moving environment
Experience supporting cross-functional teams or complex initiatives
Strong working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including tracking, status logs, and basic analysis
Highly responsive and reliable, with the ability to manage deadlines and follow-through independently
Client-service oriented, with clear written and verbal communication skills
Experience in operations, finance, technology, or transformation projects
Familiarity with tools such as Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Notion, or similar
Prior experience working as a consultant or independent contractor
Completion of a Project Management Fellowship (PMF) program or similar structured training
PMP, Agile, and/or Scrum Master certification
Independent contractor (1099) relationship
Project-based scope and duration
Flexible hours depending on project needs

Managing the accrual and cash accounting, updating financial reports
Making rolling updates in the accounting software
Capturing action items, and following through on next steps
Identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement
Maintaining clean, well-organized Excel- or dashboard-based trackers and providing timely, clear updates to clients and internal teams
We’re looking for candidates who bring:
Bachelor’s degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to nonprofit or fund accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar), Excel, and familiarity with GAAP.
Understanding of restricted vs. unrestricted net assets, grant tracking, and donor reporting.
Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of IRS rules for nonprofits, Form 990 preparation, and audit processes.
Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
Comfort working independently in a remote, fast-moving environment
